Alpha R2 + Graphics Amplifier + Command Center

I have an Alienware External Graphics Amplifier that I used on my X51 R3.  I recently purchased an Alpha R2 and moved my amp to it.  The amp and card work without issue.  However, there does not appear to be Alienware External Graphics Amplifier Software for the Alpha R2.  As such, I am unable to see my amp or change its theme colors through Command Center.  I can temporarily set it through Alienware FX Tester...but it doesn't stay after a reboot.  It defaults to a Blue-Green Color.

Is there a version of the Software available for the Alpha R2?  Or if not, is there a way to set it through another tool so it is red or blue instead of the ugly color it is now?

I tried calling support, but they said it was not an issue with the Alpha R2 so it was not covered under my support contract.  Lame answer, but it is what it is.  I know the amp works with my X51 in Command Center so it is not a hardware issue.

Hi ‌,

You can try the same amplifier driver that you use for the X51 but if it doesn't work, you won't be able to change the color.

Yes, I tried that.  The software would not install as it said it was not for this device.  I then tried installing the software on the X51 and it worked, removed the hard drive and put it in the Alpha R2.  Command Center worked fine, but it said a Device was configured that was not detected and deleted the Amp from CC.

Seeing as the X51, R13,R15,R17 all have specific software and drivers. for the amp..I am not sure why the Alpha R2 does not.  Especially since one of the selling points is AMP compatibility.

I have seen this same issue sporadically on the Internet and within these forums, with no solid resolution.  Does anyone have a CC/AGA driver/software combo that they have gotten to work?  Or as I said previously, a technique through the registry or included CC application that sets the default color of the amp?

All I really want is for it to be red or blue like the rest of my devices.
