Alienware R3 15 won't boot windows 10
Hi folks - brand new laptop, I applied the usual updates (and windows 10 upgrade). It was running fine and then the system froze and I had to hard power off. Now the machine hangs on boot. It begins with the "spinning dots" and then freezes. I have tried:
1. Making sure the BIOS settings are the default
2. I downloaded the Windows Home repair ISO from the Dell website, created a boot USB - and it freezes even when booting from that (the boot USB works fine in another laptop).
3. Run the internal diagnostics tools several times and no fault has been identified.
I've been trying to do a safe mode boot but from what i've read it doesn't work with Windows 10.
Any suggestions? Or have I bought a lemon?
Thanks
Shane

Hi garfield69au.
if pressing F8 during Boot does nothing try following:
shutdown your Laptop
press and hold Power On Button. the Laptop will Boot and turn off itself.
repead the Procedure for 3 Times.
Windows Basic Boot Options should appear now and you can choose Save Mode.
but it looks like you have a Hardware Problem since you can't even Boot from the USB Flash Drive.

Thanks for the tip. Yeah even when it boots to do a windows repair it freezes. I got in contact with the retailer and they're going to swap so (hopefully) happy days!
