Alienware laptops (15,17) compatibility issues with Samsung SSDs?

I'm spec'ing out a new laptop, and have a Samsung 850 EVO drive I'd want to add (likely replace the mechanical drive). However, a tech support rep just informed me that there is a compatibility issue with Alienware laptops running specific Samsung SSDs. I just can't recall if she said the compatibility issue was with the Samsung EVO or PRO model SSDs (or both). She herself may have been vague on it, as I think she substituted one type for the other a few times. Anyone know the answer or have experience with this? Apparently, it's an issue that's been going on for several months and affects a massive number of SSDs.
