Alienware for Commercial Enterprises

I just purchased the latest Alienware 17 R4 for my company. We are developing VR applications for our Clients. Given the increasing deployment of VR in science and engineering it would be great if Dell offered a 'commercial' boxed version of the product - the flashing lights and image of the gear is great for gaming but a bit OTT for commercial presentations!!

I perceive this would simply cost a re-designed case without the gizmos and a clean software install with minimum adware. It would also be useful if overclocking tricks were built in to Dell functions so 'simple minded' commercial users could access these features with a button click (and appropriate health warnings!!) I reckon I can push the limits of the processors with huge point clouds (several TB's of points) and highly detailed real world CAD models where we cannot use 'texture tricks' to slim down the model while retaining realism. Hence the potential need for squeezing the last bit of performance out of the system.

Get on the jet before it takes off Dell!!

depends..  for the minimal that would buy , and dell's cost ,  probably why it hasnt been done, dell offers precision workstations, is probably the other reason.. they have home line business line and gaming lines.. but to each thier own, on  looks i guess haha ..

good idea tho..  but  how hard is it to *GO DARK*  and shut off the lights..  overclocking is available if you get a  unlocked version processor in the control center and such... video can be done with sw programs easily enough..
