Alienware Aurora R4 question about upgrading RAM

Hello i have a question i currently own an Alienware Aurora R4 and What i was wondering if it can take 4 4GB sticks of either DDR3 2133 240 pin DIMM or DDR3 1600 240 pin DIMM and does it matter if it's either ECC or Non-ECC.

Thank you for all the help ^_^!

Hi Deputycarl‌,

This is the validated Memory Type:

Quad Channel DDR3 1600 MHz
Quad Channel DDR3 2133 MHz XMP

*Non-ECC

Memory Min / Max:

8 GB to 32 GB (four slots)

I'm just double checking Only four slots will work because on this it does say 16gb (2x8GB DIMMS)

Yes, 16GB (2x8) will work or you can use all 4 Slots 4x8GB.

Here you have the info:

4x 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM Slots for use with the following configurations:

  • 8Gb (2x4 Gb DIMMS)
  • 16Gb (2x8 Gb DIMMS)
  • 24Gb (2x8 Gb + 2x4Gb DIMMS)
  • 32Gb (4x8 Gb DIMMS)
