Alienware Alpha R2 M2 SSD Upgrade Advice
Hi everyone,
I originally purchased my Alpha R2 with a 512GB PCIe SSD, but I've found that in the long-term, I’ll need more storage (I use my Alpha as an all-round pc, not just for gaming).
Please can anyone let me know if the following M2 SSD is compatible with my Alpha R2?
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/36615/intel-600p-series-1tb-m-2-ssd
Also, has anyone else upgraded their M2 SSD and have any tips/things to be aware of?
Many thanks guys.

Any PCIe SSD should be compatible. The 600p series from intel has mixed reviews but if cost is an issue it should be fine. You can also keep the SSD installed and install a 2.5mm SSD or HDD for data storage.

Many thanks for your response to this. I'm really sorry for the dumb question, but how can you add a 2.5" ssd into the alpha r2? I didn't realise this was possible!

On the bottom of the unit when you unscrew it, there is a black 'cage' that is attached by one screw. You would put the SSD into the cage with screws and it slides into the SATA/Power ports. Here is the manual on how to do it.
