Alienware 17 R4

Hello!!

I have a few questions about the new Alienware 17 with E-Value code: N00AW17R410. I live in Spain and I have a few questions. I'm an IT Engineer.

Would I void the warranty...

  • By Upgrading the SSD?
  • By Repasting the CPU and the GPU?

And I would like to also know if the laptop needs a higher power supply like 2-3 years ago that the alienware came with a 180-240W PSU and to have full performance an 330W PSU was required.

Thank you very much. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Hi,

Upgrading the SSD will not void the warranty but the third party SSD won't be covered (including the OS).

Repasting the CPU and the GPU will not void the warranty, as long as it is done in the right way without affecting any component.

(These are warranty policies for United States and Canada)

About the PSU, it depends on the video card.

Let me know if you need something else!

I already asked and repasting will not void the warranty, but we recommend using IC Diamond o similar.

Also, the 1080 does need the 330W PSU.

Could someone answer me taking note from Spanish policies? There isn't a global reference for all te countries?

Repasting with Liquid Metal doesn't void the warranty?

Does the GTX 1080 model has a 330w PSU? If the answer is no, the PSU out of the box is enough to power this beast? Sorry for all those questions, I need a lot of information
