Alienware 15 R3 - Will a Samsung Evo 850 M.2 work?
Hi Folks,
I apparently have a Samsung Evo 850 M.2 SSD coming my way for my new Alienware 15 R3 (the SSD was supposed to be a surprise birthday gift). I have looked in various placed and it seems like the M.2 slots accept both PCIe and SATA (see: http://www.dell.com/support/manuals/ca/en/cadhs1/alienware-15-laptop/Alienware-15-R3-SetupandSpecifications/Storage?guid=GUID-FFA4B311-7053-4DC5-9294-A42C475DB5E1&lang=en-us
I have seen many posts on using the Samsung Evo 960 M.2 (since it is faster with the PCIe interface) but from the Dell URL it seems that SATA M.2 will also work. Does anyone know if this is the case?
Thanks!

To confirm: I installed the Evo 850 M.2 and it works great. (AMAZINGLY great compared to the HGST 1GB - awful!)

Perfect! That is what I expected. Spinning disk will eventually go!
Thanks!
