Alienware 15 R3 Wake-on-LAN
I saw a similar thread regarding a 17 R3 from January; there the conclusion was that the BIOS did not support WOL. Is this the case for the 15 R3? My magic packets (wired) are not waking it up from sleep, hibernation, etc. My killer driver properties allow this and I have tried it with fast-startup turned on and off. Thanks!

Hi,
There's only USB wake support in this machine. Wake on LAN isn't available in the BIOS, therefore the feature will not work.

Thanks for the response. Do you know if there is a way to configure my USB ports to remain powered on when the laptop is running on AC? I would like to exploit the wake on USB feature from a shutdown/hibernate state if possible. (Not sure if only PS/2 ports can handle this)

I have some old machines here waking with Magic-Packets on wired Ethernet (never tried with wireless). For me, I've only ever seen it wake from SLEEP. Try S3 or S5 in BIOS if available ... but with UEFI system, Windows settings might control it.
Yes, the Ethernet card must be working and set properly.
I use www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/ from batch file to send the Magic-Packet.
In general, it can be a little tricky to setup.
The mouse or KB waking machine ... that's a different thing.
