alienware 13 r3 the amount of memory has changed error

I bought an Alienware 13 R3 in August, every time I update the BIOS or the  NVDIA 1060 driver, I get a memory has changed error when I shutdown my computer or restart. I have to reset windows to end the problem. Which indicates (most likely) a software problem and not a hardware problem. Kindly advise me as I use this computer not only for gaming but for work.

Thank you

Hi jstor007‌,

First try resetting the memory modules, then you can also try one module at a time. You can use this video as a reference:

New Alienware 13 R3: Upgrade/Replace RAM - YouTube

If you keep on getting the message at reboot, let the computer sit there for at least 10 minutes max, you will eventually see a dialog stating "press f1 to continue or f2 to enter setup",  you can press f1, it will boot into windows.  As soon as you get to the login, do a reboot, after this, the message should not appear anymore.
