Alienware 13 R2 no back-light in win 10 after update

When I turn my laptop on the screen back-light works and I see the Alienware logo, but as soon as windows starts to boot the back light shuts off. At first I thought it crashed, but if you look close to the screen you can see the icons and windows, just no light. When I plug it into my TV via HDMI everything works fine on the TV, but still no light from the laptop. I disabled the Intel Graphics from the system manager, and rebooted the laptop. After that everything booted fine and the back-light worked... well almost, for some reason with the Intel Graphics disabled, the laptop wouldn't recognize the Nvidia gpu. So then i did a reboot with the backup image I made when I first got the laptop. Everything worked and seemed great, I ran the windows update, and as soon as it was done the back-light shut off and now I'm back to square one. Any help would be great.
