XPS 13 9343 (2015 Developer Edition) Touchpad Issue

Hi,

i have a problem with the touchpad of my XPS 13 9343.

History:

In the beginning i did a clean install of 14.04, which didn't work well.

After that i installed 15.04 and after some hard lessons i got everything working except a stable WiFi driver (Permanent freezes while suspend resume). The Broadcomm kernel modules are really f**ed up!

The touchpad was not an issue then, i was really happy with the way it worked. Only Two-Finger rightclick and typing detection wasn't always working as expected.

So i bought the Intel WiFi card, build it in and did a clean install of Kubuntu 15.04 followed by a actual Kernel 4.1.x.

System runs stable since then, some minor issues, but i think they mostly KDE Issues.

However from one day to the other the touchpad isn't functioning properly anymore.

When i use

Xinput test 15

and i move one finger on the touchpad from left to right the output gets very view movements but lots of Left Click events.

It doesnt't matter, if i move fast or slow, or press hard or mild. I always get more Left Clicks, than movements.

This results in practically unusable touchpad, because one move expands windows, marks text, clicks anything under the movement.

I already tried several other forum, askubuntu etc. threads to fix it, but honestly gave up and put in an external mouse.

X configuration seems to be ok.

the touchpad is running in i2c mode. psmouse is blacklisted.

Anbody had experienced similar issues and/or an idea what this could be or where to look?

Best,

 C.

to make it short, i will contact dell support assuming its a hardware problem.

For my needs i have odered another laptop brand. its not so small as the XPS13, but its known to support linux out of the box.

It was my first and last Dell hardware.

Best,

 C.
