XPS 13 9300, screen tearing on external monitor

Hi there,

What I've noticed when reading pages of text such as this Dell Support Community Forum or Wikipedia is a lot of screen tearing on my external monitor. Usually screen tearing occurs when the frequency of the monitor and the output display connector are not synchronized at the same Hertz frequency which happens a lot in computer gaming. I'm not gaming but just reading text on an external display. Both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox exhibit this behaviour when scrolling down text. I don't know if this issue is a physical hardware limitation or just a software issue. I don't think the issue is my external display since it is a 2019 32" Samsung 4K TV connected using a USB-C hub via HDMI. The screen display scaling is set to 150% of the 4K TV.

Anyhow, much appreciated if anyone can assist!

Update September 30 = I actually found a solution to my problem by lowering the screen resolution to 1920x1080 and setting the refresh rate to 60Hz instead of 30Hz. This solution has fixed the zigzag (jagged) lines I see on my external display.
