XPS 13 9300, firmware update 1.2.0 to 1.3.0 = no sound

To anyone,

I just updated the BIOS firmware on my Dell XPS 13 9300 from 1.2.0 to 1.3.0 and now the sound is no longer coming out of any of the speakers or headphone jacks I have connected?

In settings, the sound seems to be playing on the graphical sound indicator using three output types:
1) Internal speakers
2) Headphone Jack
3) External output using USB Type-C

However, no actual sound is coming out of any of the three outputs.
