XPS 13 7390, different OEM kernel question
Hi folks,
I bought a Dell XPS 7390 (DE) last year which is currently running kernel 4.15.0-1081-oem. All I did was reinstall the OS using Dell Recovery to setup LUKS and have been installing all recommended updates since. If I want to run a different OEM kernel, like the one here, will it have all the required drivers and custom Dell tweaks that is specific to my system build/specs? Also, would it void my "official Dell support" since I am technically not running the official factory kernel anymore?
Background: I have been having problems with a bluetooth headset and after researching online it seems the problem is potentially caused by some bugs in the bluez stack and those bugs are supposedly fixed in the newer OEM kernels. I did somewhat solve the problem by using a workaround patch for bluez and modifying some conf files which is great for the interim, but wanted to know if I can safely use a newer kernel in the event future issues arise (I am considering purchasing a Dell dock and based on limited research, those have their fair share of problems that needs troubleshooting e.g. suspend issues.)
Thanks!
