XPS 13 7390 18.04 - trackpad has limited functionality

On this XPS 13 7390 running Ubuntu 18.04, the trackpad works, but has presumably limited functionality. I can move the pointer, left, middle and right click along the bottom, and tap to click (I think, but I have that turned off).

The middle click is detected when I am intending on a left click, so I'd like to turn that off. Or, preferably, use one finger click anywhere for left click, and two fingers anywhere for right click. There are no settings to configure this, but my understanding is that the windows drivers allow this.

Two finger vertical and horizontal scrolling works.

No 3 finger gestures are present. No pinching to zoom is present either.

Do I need a different trackpad driver?

Otherwise, a really nice machine!

Thanks!

I think the trackpad itself has some problem with it. My 7390 is totally dead machine after 2 months. The only way to fix the problem is to restore the system with its original image. But that means this laptop is useless for a developer. Hope your trackpad can survive longer than mine.

Hi,

there are 'extensions' that can be installed from the ubuntu software 'store'. the particular extension is called "Extended Gestures"
