video driver support under linux mint/ubuntu for XPS 13 (7390)
i am running a new install of linux mint on a brand new xps 13 laptop (iris plus video card i believe). cinnamon window manager will only start in software rendering mode. lspci lists the video card as unknown:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Device 9bca (rev 04)
how can i get this card recognized? thanks!

good news (for me; and anyone who is reading this?) -- i updated my kernel (mint 19 was on 4.x) to current (5.4.3) and it seems to have made my intel uhd 620 visible to the system. generally things work now (no software rendering!) ... but a little flicker and block bits in chrome; but still much better than before.
