Hi Dell support,

First of all , please provide the OS supportability for this model Alienware Area-51m R2.

We having issue with Installing the Ubuntu 18.04 on this model.

What we did as below

1) Changed the Disk type from BIOS from RAID to AHCI
2) DIsabled Secure Boot

Then flash the USB with Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS ISO and then boot the machine and from the grub altered nomodeset. This model consist of 4 SSD disk of size 512GB each.

#nvme list

Wiped the primary drive using
#sgdisk -Z /dev/nvme0n1

Then proceed with Install Ubuntu, and we choose "Erase disk and Install Ubuntu " and then Instlalation started.
We face the error after that as below

"grub-efi-amd64-signed failed installation /target/ Ubuntu 18.04"

Whereas Ubuntu 20.04 worked without any errors.

Thanks
Jaya
