Touchpad will randomly stop working/no longer appear in settings, Ubuntu 20.04 Precision M6800

After putting Ubuntu 20.04 on my Dell Precision M6800 my touchpad began having problems. After a little bit my touchpad no longer worked. I plugged in a mouse and the mouse worked fine. When I went to look at settings for the touchpad it didn't even register that there was a touchpad. When my touchpad does work (usually for a short time after restarting) it does show up in the settings and things can be adjusted only to disappear again when the touchpad quits working. Is there a way to fix this so the touchpad always works and stops disappearing?
