Processer options for windows 11 dell optiplex 5050
With windows 10 coming to a close in October I am debating on whether to upgrade my CPU or just fully install Linux when support comes to an end. Currently the Processer that I am running is an I7-7700t @ 2.90 ghz clock speed that does not support windows 11. Upon looking at the manual for my PC and the list of compatible processers there are none that support Windows 11. Question is would installing a Intel processor with within my computers voltage rating that supports my Motherboard and power supply work as an alternate replacement? as Far as I am aware everything is stock in my PC with the addition of a SSD. I have debated bypassing the PC requirement process and installing windows 11 but Fear that if I do install it windows will not provide security updates.

You can upgrade your PC to Windows 11 now as it's still receiving all securities updates.
A clean install will not require bypass. Just set UEFI boot mode, Secure Boot on, and TPM on.
