Precision 5540 working well with Ubuntu 20.04.2?
Just got the pop-up asking to upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04.2 in my Precision 5540, and I was wondering if anyone tried it and can confirm all is working well.
I tried updating when 20.04 first came up (April 2020) and there was Wi-Fi issues that made it unusable (see https://www.dell.com/community/Linux-Developer-Systems/Painfully-slow-Wifi-on-Ubuntu-20-04-on-XPS-13-7390-Dev-Edition/td-p/7589185).
Thanks!

Hi, I didn't try until now, but if you give it a try, let us know how it works please.

I'm on 20.04.2, I don't have issues with WiFi. Overall, it's stable and I don't see any issues in the way the system operates.
Did you get a prompt to update from Dell or did you toggle the "never" update switch?
Cheers!

No, I still get prompted on a regular basis to remind me the upgrade is available.
How long have you been under Ubuntu 20.4.2 without any issue?

Thanks madhavanm for your response!
I get the normal Ubuntu upgrade messages, but I've been delaying the decision because my previous attempt was a disaster (had to reinstall 18.04). What do you mean with "prompt to update from Dell"?
Not sure if it is too much to ask, but could you run powertop (in a terminal, with sudo) and let me know what is the discharge rate after a while?
-In 18.04 with full brightness and the intel power-saving graphic card, I get around 7.5 W discharge rate idling (only a terminal with powertop opened) and around 16-18 W while just leaving a long youtube video playing (chrome in left half of the screen and terminal on the right half). In both cases, I don't even move the mouse cursor (which weirdly, has a huge impact).
Thanks again for your input.
