Mini 9 Internal mic

Hi,

 

I have not heard from Dell. I did try calling but there is no support for Ubuntu on the weekend. I have the mini with the webcam. What I did read online was that if you plug in an external mic then both the internal and external mic work. I can confirm that if you plug in an external mic, the external mic works but I could not really tell if the internal mic worked. The post I read said there is a glitch in Ubuntu that stops the internal mic working but there is no fix -- yet

 

How do you run the diagnostics to determine if the mic is working?

I have the same problem but with my XPS M1330, the internal mic doesn't work but when i run the diagnostic there's nothing wrong. Doesn't anyone know any trick?

On bootup touch the 0 (zero) key.  It wii boot into a screen where you can run diagnostics.
