M18 R2, Ethernet not working on Linux OS

Hi,

I've bought a Alienware M18 R2 laptop and I've installed Linux Mint.

The problem is the internal ethernet card (powered by the E5000 killer controller) doesn't work. Instead, the WiFi card and an usb-ethernet dongle do.

Is there something I can do in order to get this to work? In Windows the internal NIC works as expected.

You need a driver, for which you will need to contact the Linux Mint community -- Dell does not have LInux support for this model.

There is this thread that might help you solve the issue. It links to an external thread: https://discuss.cachyos.org/t/solved-non-functional-ethernet-connection-but-wifi-works/4431
