Inspiron G3 15 3590, Dual Boot Issues: Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Hi Dell users,
I am trying to setup dual boot for my dell system ( Dell G3 15 3590 ) using this: https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln301754/how-to-install-ubuntu-and-windows-8-or-10-as-a-dual-boot-on-your-dell-pc?lang=en#Version
I followed all the steps: BIOS was UEFI, Disabled Secure Boot, shrunk the SSD partition using Windows Disk Management, Disabled Fast Startup, but when I tried to install Ubuntu, it was not detecting the hard disk partitions. I googled a bit and found that this could be because of the RAID - AHCI incompatibility and followed these instructions (Method 1): https://askubuntu.com/questions/963087/install-dual-boot-ubuntu-with-windows-10-and-raid-on
But, even after this, when I switched to AHCI in BIOS and tried to boot into Windows, it showed me error (INACCESSIBLE_DISK error) and I had to reset my windows.
Can users point me to a workable solution for installing dual-boot? Thank you so much for the help!

Have you had any luck? I've attempted the same thing with my G3 well. Unfortunately, I had the same problems. I stopped before switching to AHCI after I read your post. I'm hoping there is a solution.

Have a look here:
https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-za/sln299303/loading-ubuntu-on-systems-using-pcie-m2-drives?lang=en
You need to set a boot flag to let the installer know to look for nvme drives.

When I am trying to use GPart to make a part for kali linux, GPart can't dedicate my disk partitions so I was searching on the internet for a solution like you did and I got the same results but I think the last solution is to buy a USB drive and install kali linux to it but I am wondering what will happen if I install kali linux on clean disk then use kali to create partitions for windows and install windows may it works? I know I should backup my files but is it worth that sacrifice?
