Inspiron 15 5502, Ubuntu Linux 20.04, Dell Recovery Tool?

Today I bought Dell Inspiron 15 5502. My laptop has built-in Windows 10 Home, but I want to install Ubuntu 20.04 as I have checked the Ubuntu website and found that this laptop supports it. But I want to install ubuntu with the Dell recovery tool. In the recovery tool, I only see Windows 10 option, no Ubuntu option is there. I am concerned about official dell ubuntu support because it provides the best hardware driver supports.

The Dell recovery tool will only install the OS shipped initially shipped with the system. If you want Ubuntu, you can either:

1. Install it manually,

2. Return the system and re-order with Ubuntu factory installed.

Then how can I get the official drivers? Manual installation usually doesn't provide dell supported drivers. Also in my case, return is not possible.

Hi,

On a new Dell Inspiron 5502 in May 2021, I just clean installed Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (Made with Ubuntu 21.04 USB tools) over my original manual install of Ubuntu 21.04. The Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS install updated under "Addititional Drivers" tab (Unlike Ubuntu 21.04) with OEM-Somervile-meerra-tgl-meta hardware support for "Dell Inspiron 5403/5502, Vostro 5402/5502". Not sure if it is important that I reset BIOS TPM to clear and clear command before reinstalling LTS Ubuntu plus used updated SSDs (two 1TB SK hynix Gold P31 with ZFS) and memory (Crucial Performance 32GB at 1.35V). Not sure, how to get Dell pre-installed Ubuntu on an Inspiron 5502. The Dell XPS and Precision lines make ordering Ubuntu configured machines easier to find.

I also checked when I installed ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, some drivers are there in the additional drivers section from Dell.
