How to update BIOS of Dell R200
Hi everyone, I am having a really bad time trying to update the BIOS of my old Dell PowerEdge R200 that is in the version 1.3.1, and I need to the last version that is 1.4.3, It's running CentOS 7 on it.
I tried to find information on Dells site but seems that they don't like this server version because I only find information about R220 or R230. So here is what I tried:
Dell EMC Repository Manager: The R200 is not available in the list.
Dell Support Live ISO Image (put the iso in pendrive then boot on it and execute the .bin files): Worked for the firmware update but when gets to the BIOS it try but return a failed message without other information.
The full output from the BIOS update is:
# ./PER200_BIOS_LX_1.4.3.BIN
Collecting inventory...

Running validation...
BIOS
The version of this Update Package is newer than the currently installed version.
Software application name: BIOS
Package version: 1.4.3
Installed version: 1.0.0
Continue? Y/N:y
Executing update...
WARNING: DO NOT STOP THIS PROCESS OR INSTALL OTHER DELL PRODUCTS WHILE UPDATE IS IN PROGRESS.

.....
The BIOS image file is successfully loaded. To apply the BIOS update successfully, the OMSA data manager service is stopped in case it
is already running. Do not shutdown, cold reboot, power cycle, or switch off the system before the BIOS update is completed. Restart
the system for the update to take effect. The update remains incomplete until the system is rebooted.
Would you like to reboot your system now?

Then the server screen became green and the screen freeze until the system restart and show this message:
"Attempting to update BIOS..."
"Update failed"
What else can I do? This server doesn't have IDRAC.
Seems that I am facing the same issue from this post: https://www.dell.com/community/PowerEdge-Hardware-General/Update-PE-R200-bios-running-CentOS-7/td-p/4521273
