Dell S3221QS monitor does not wake from hibernate.

Hi, I've found that the monitor does not wake from hibernate under the latest version of Ubuntu, Debian, and Pop!_OS.  The message on the screen advises that the monitor is not connected (though it is because it works fine before hibernating).  The monitor is connected to a Dell 8940 with an Nvidia 3070 graphics card.  I believe that I've tried the propriety driver and the one that come as the default with Ubuntu.  The problem is present whether I use hdmi or displayport connexions.  Does anybody know how this can be fixed?  Thanks!
