Dell Precision 5820 X-series Desktop crashing over Ubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 20.04

Hi Dell Support, 

We are facing issue with crashing/hanging problem after the installation of Ubuntu 18.04/20.04 on Dell Precision 5820 X-series. 

I will explain the issues one by one. In the 5820 X-series they changed the SSD model, GPU card model to latest one.

Note:- We already updated the latest BIOS package

 

Components

----

> PM981a NVMe SAMSUNG 2048GB 

> 2TB HDD

> NVIDIA Corporation TU104GL [Quadro RTX 4000]

----

 

1) Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS

SSD disk not detection while installation. 

Crashing issue unable to copy or run anything on the system. Machine goes to hung state if we start copying locally

2) Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS

SSD detecting fine without any issues

Crashing issue unable to copy or run anything on the system. Machine goes to hung state if we start copying locally

This model 5820 Precision is a buggy for Ubuntu Linux 18.04 or 20.04 . 

The one we used without X-series which works smooth and stable
