Using 130W Adapter with Dell Latitude E6430

Hello,
I have a Dell Latitude E6430. Originally, it comes with a 90W adapter, but I’m considering using a Dell 130W adapter instead.

Is it safe to use the 130W adapter with this laptop?

Will it help the CPU to reach higher performance (Turbo Boost), since with a non-original 90W adapter my CPU speed is limited around 2.0 GHz?
I just want to confirm if the official Dell 130W adapter (19.5V, 6.7A) is fully compatible and will not cause any issues for my E6430.

Thank you in advance.

The system will draw only as much power as it needs, so a 130W Dell OEM adapter will work fine.  That said, it will make no performance difference at all, as the system does not need more than a 90W adapter.  Being OEM, it will perform better than a third party adapter though - but so would a 90W Dell OEM adapter.

@ejn63 Thank you for your clear explanation. Now I understand that the 130W Dell OEM adapter is safe, but it won’t provide extra performance compared to a 90W OEM adapter. The important point is to use a genuine Dell adapter, not a third-party one. Thanks again for your help.
