Worked for me on my Windows-11 Desktop.

Is yours Windows-10 or Windows-11?

Try Windows-Update Troubleshooter.

A subset of people are always having some problem with something.

I just saw looked and saw it successfully installed on 3 of my Windows-11 Pro v25H2 machines.

Since every system is distinctive due to a myriad of factors - hardware, software, configuration, physical condition, etc your success does not mean universal success. Each person has to weigh a number of factors especially in relation to system updates some of which are foisted on an unready client.

@Maxd1 ,

1. Since every system is distinctive due to a myriad of factors - hardware, software, configuration, physical condition, etc your success does not mean universal success.

2. Each person has to weigh a number of factors especially in relation to system updates some of which are foisted on an unready client.

1. That sounds more reasonable. Before you said it was luck.

2. Lost me here again. The Windows-Updates install themselves (as offered ... as Windows-11 decides). I don't intervene and I don't think many others do either.

It's better for a patch not to install than to install and cause all kinds of trouble. I wouldn't want to be the first to install an update, even an important security fix like this one. Thus the "lucky" comment.

To the poster, you can attempt to ready your machine for the update by running the sfc , dism, troubleshooter if you want. System Restore is one I would I would incorporate. Are all your drivers up-to-date ?

Hope you both have a good day.
