unable to update to latest bios on Latitude 7370

Trying to sustain an aged Laptop Latitude 7370, recently installed Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC.  Currently running on bios 1.30.3, but trying to update to the latest available: 1.32.3

But using the exe file, disabling bitlocker, using the flash update process (thru F12) has been unsuccessful.

No error message generated. But the bios remains at 1.30.3

The best efforts of Copilot and Gemini have been to no avail.

Any big ideas out there?

Perhaps you could try 1.31.3. You are aware of the potential dangers of a bad/failed update ?

Main battery = 50 % minimum ?

Coin-cell (cmos) battery been replaced in computer history ?

Set BIOS to defaults and attempt.

Use a different usb port.

Do a hard reset on system.

Run the (F12) Diagnostics.

The fault is in the applying of the update; unfortunately I don't know the precise fix for this issue.

thanks for the response.  My efforts included looking for version 1.31, but couldn’t find it on the Dell site.  I was uneasy about looking on the “aftermarket” sites.  Do you have a reliable source for this driver?   (Btw, I’m aware of potential risks of bios change.  Fortunately repeated attempts thus far caused no obvious harm.)

* I went to the general Dell Latitude 7370 Drivers & Downloads page
* I clicked Category --> Ascending
* I clicked Dell Latitude 7370 System BIOS
* Right of 1.32.3 I clicked "Older versions" and see 1.31.3 =

@DELL-ChrisM2 thanks for the research.  I couldn't find "Category --> Ascending" on the driver page that was linked, but I kept searching and was rewarded with the list you indicated.

Gemini suggested going back to version1.29 and then trying the 1.32.

But I will try with the 1.31 then if successful, try the 1.32 again, via the flash bios pathway in the startup bios F12.   Thanks again.  Will report results.

Despite the good help, I tried the bios 131.1.3 , but with the same result.  With the "bios flash"  it appears to proceed with no error message, restarts, but on review of "system information" the bios remains 130.1.3

Any other ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks again for trying.

@Maxd1 I have replaced the battery with an after market type that seems to be working well.  I don't know if the coin cell cmos battery has ever be replaced.

I will try the bios reset to defaults.

There is only 1 usb port, but there is a usb C port.  I have a usb c flash drive that I could try putting the bios on.

I could do the hard reset, though I hate to take out the battery.

I will run the F12 diagnostics  (assuming I can find the proper button to push!

Hoping to do no harm, since it is otherwise working ok.

Will report progress

Thanks
