SSD worked for a whle now it doesnot show up at all

Dell Latitude 5530 Intel I71255U, 32 GB Ram

Purchased a 2TB SSD and installed it on my laptop more than a year ago. I´m an update freak so I constatly make sure everything is uptodate windows, firmware and drivers.

At some point the computer would stop recognizing the 2nd SSD:

- Ussually it would happen after I left the laoptop on overnight, next day when i typed something the computer wuld light up normally but error message that onedrive could not be found (2nd ssd) what I would ussually do was turn off and turn on, this would normally fix the problem up

- sometimes, rebooting was not enough, then I would go into the bios, the drive was there, had to toggle someting on and off just to make a change and the rebooting would work perfectly

- NOW after a firmware update the ssd is simply not there, not in bios not in windows

Opened the laptop and everything looks good, no apparent reason for this

I havent learned yet how to uninstall a bios update but do you guys have any other suggestions?

The bios update that caused the latest problem is the 10 of june 2025 one, marked as critical and non downgradeable :(

Version
1.30.1
Download Type
System BIOS
File Name
Precision_3570_Latitude_5530_1.30.1.exe
Important Information
- Once the BIOS is upgraded, you cannot downgrade the BIOS to earlier versions. BIOS downgrades are restricted when there are security updates and important fixes with earlier versions that impact the functionality of the system.

Have you verified the volume in Disk Management? Are you able to add the volume back or assign a drive letter in Diskpart?

If that isn't working. Run diags on your 2nd drive and post the results.

Lastly, if the SSD has a firmware update for the drive, that might be the last hope.
