Removing RJ-45 Ports Is Ridiculous

Removing network ports from laptops takes them from the realm of functional business machines to middle school internet appliances. If we wanted Chromebooks, we would have saved $1000 per laptop and gone with off-brand Chromebooks. Perhaps Dell would like to come to my agency and explain why a dozen sites are reporting that they can't image 400 new new laptops because the Network-->USB dongle stupidity does not work for our network imaging solution. Was this by design to drive engagement with your imaging services? Follow the $$$ You should have thought this one out Dell. Going forward, we'll be thinking about what companies sell professional grade laptops WITH network ports.

There are plenty of options with Dell systems that have RJ45 connectors.

@ejn63 According to Dell, RJ45 jacks on the Pro line are optional being phased out. They are optional on a few models now, only standard on the Pro Max line.
I work for a federal agency with a 3-4 purchasing process. We just got hundreds of these dumped on us. We often don't get to see what we are getting until it arrives. On top of that, the option to return substandard equipment can take 6 months or more, then another 3-4 month wait for replacements.
We had come to rely on Dell to provide the quality equipment we need. Now, we will have to look around and be more careful before approving any orders.

I like wires also, but I don't mind using WiFi for portable computers and devices.

But lets say "nice, fast, secure, CAT-6 wires" only. Since you are already using a wire, why is using an inline USB-C_to_RJ45 such a big deal?
