Latitude 5510 - Orange light continuously blinking

Heya folks,

I've got a battery that is literally 1 year old (replaced by Dell under the extended battery warranty - If Dell are here - Case : <To protect you, your private information was removed from public view. All private data was saved to your private Case. DELL-Admin>

I'm now getting a continuous blinking orange light.

This happens when the battery hits 100% whether using USB C or Barrel type charger.

And now when I unplug the charger, the laptop goes off.

BIOS indicates excellent health of the battery.

Diagnostics - No issues with battery or charger.

Do I have a battery that's detonated after literally one year?

BIOS is version 1.40.1 - reflashed and no change.

Well you can try the following:

  • Turn laptop OFF

  • Disconnect charger

  • Hold power button 30 seconds

  • Plug charger back in

  • Power on
