Latitude 5450
Hi all,
We’re seeing a strange issue on multiple Dell Latitude 5450 laptops in our environment. Occasionally, when users watch videos (Facebook, YouTube, embedded players, etc.), the video content gets scrambled with a green pixelated artifact, almost like a video decoding error. It’s intermittent – doesn’t happen every time – but enough to be annoying. It's happening also any video related app like Teams, Zoom etc.
What we’ve done so far:
Clean Windows 11 Pro 24H2 install (no Dell recovery image)
Intel drivers (graphics, Wi-Fi, etc.) are all pulled directly from Intel
Dell drivers (BIOS, firmware, audio, etc.) are from Dell Support
We always include the Realtek USB GBE Ethernet driver for dock compatibility
BIOS and firmware are fully up to date
Nothing helps. Maybe it's known issue. It's happening on random machines

Note: We are marking this response as the accepted solution for visibility purposes only. This issue is not yet resolved for all users in this thread.
Hi everyone,
We want to let you know that Dell engineering teams is aware of this issue and actively working towards the fix.
In the meantime, you can use the following workaround to help mitigate the problem.
Temporary Workaround: Disable Hardware Acceleration in Your Browser
Steps:
This should help reduce or eliminate the issue until the updated driver is released.
We’ll keep you posted as soon as the new driver becomes available. Thanks again for your understanding and support!

Yep, same issue here. Didn't bother too much about, as I thought this will be resolved soon. But have this laptop since december 2024, and get annoying now.... System seems to be very solw in responding to mouse/keyboard also when this happens. I am running all the latest drivers according to dell. Will check the intel-site for newer video drivers.

Reported this issue with Dell for one of our users who was issued a 5450 laptop. Ended up being booked for a motherboard replacement. Does this mean that there's a batch of Latitude 5450 laptops with bad video cards or drivers?

I'm facing the same problem with my Dell Latitude 5450. I opened a ticket with Dell and after several attempts to resolve it, none of them solved the problem. Finally, Dell informed me that the problem is with the website I'm accessing and not with the computer itself. They said they can't do anything... I watch videos on a course platform, I've always watched them on other computers, but exclusively on the Latitude 5450 the GPU video freezes at 100% and green pixels occur. How can it be a problem with the website I'm accessing? It doesn't make sense. Finally, I have a product warranty but I don't have the support I expected.

Hi,
Just wanted to chime in, we’re seeing exactly the same issue on several Dell Latitude 5450 laptops in our environment as well.
Same green pixelated artifacts on YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, or even embedded videos in Teams/Slack/Zoom. It’s random, but definitely happening often enough to frustrate users.
We’ve also:
done clean installs (Win 11 Pro 24H2),
pulled all latest drivers from Intel and Dell (BIOS, graphics, firmware, etc.).
➡️ For now, the only workaround we’ve found is to disable hardware acceleration in affected apps (Chrome, Slack, Teams…). It’s not ideal, but it does mitigate the issue.
Looks like this could be a specific issue with the 5450 series only — we have 5420/5430 models with the same software image and no problem at all.
Would be great if Dell could acknowledge and provide a proper fix or driver patch.

Just an update after reporting our issue as mentioned above (Dell Latitude 5450) with Dell, an engineer replaced the main board, and unfortunately, did not fix the issue. I'll be reimaging our users' older Dell Latitude 5420, which they're happy with, as no video display issues at all.
Once I get the 5450 back, I'll do further testing, including another reimage to Win11 24H2.

Dear,
After weeks of investigation, we finally managed to solve the problem with my Latitude 5450.
As I mentioned here, I was also facing problems with green pixelated video playback and high GPU Decode. We had already tried reinstalling the drivers, upgrading from Windows 10 to 11, cleaning, and several actions, but none of them worked.
Finally, what worked was:
- I created a bootable USB drive with Windows 11;
- I installed/formatted this new Windows;
- After booting, I updated Windows via Windows Update;
- I updated Dell via Support Assist;
(even the problem still existed)
- Finally, the Dell technician updated the video drivers to version 32.0.101.6078.
After that, I ran several tests and the problem no longer occurred!
Notes:
1. I did not need to change any hardware. The problem was solved by formatting for Windows 11 and updating the software;
2. Updating Windows 10 to 11 via Windows Update continued to present the same problem even after installing driver 32.0.101.6078. What really solved the problem was to do a new installation of Windows via a bootable USB stick.

7 of our Latutudes 5550 & 5540 are having similar video distortion issues.
Dell asked me to intall device original Win 11 OS (Dell provided).
Followed the steps provided by Dell and laptop did not see video distortion for nearly 2 weeks.
The issue started again since yesterday.

And all the 7 Latitude laptops (above) are recent purchases in the last 7 months.
The LCD video distortion appears to impact only the recent Latitudes and not the older ones.

Quick update from Dell support:
They’ve confirmed that the issue with green pixelated artifacts on Latitude 5450 is a known problem. Their engineering team is working on a new graphics driver, with an estimated release date of July 25th, 2025.
In the meantime, disabling hardware acceleration remains the only reliable workaround for our users, they like to switch between one browser who have it deactivated to one who is not when it's needed.
Hope this helps others in the same situation — I’ll post more updates if anything changes

I was having this problem. It's stabilized after doing a fresh install of the December Graphics Driver. However, the GPU struggles with video calls. Mostly on Teams - the camera locks up, subsequently locks the computer up and the GPU clocks 100% usage. This happens a few times a week. Is this also being worked on?

I have installed the latest drivers from intel (Version: 32.0.101.6913, Release date: June 27, 2025), and so far so good. No video playback issues, yet....
I don't use teams very much, as I stopped working 😊

@DELL-Nat M I have a Dell Latitude 5550 that is experiencing the same issue. Will there be a driver update for this model as well? Thanks.
