Latitude 5410 - Annoying Autorun when rebooting.
At some point, I have tried to update the BIOS on the computer. And it has failed because I lack the small cable between the motherboard and the battery. The settings in the BIOS require me to have the battery installed even though I have power from the wall in order for the update to be carried out. (And the BIOS is locked with a password, which I do not have since the person who sold me the computer many years ago no longer knew it.) Well, well…
...what bothers me is that every time I restart the computer, this comes up: "Updating your Firmware." (and that you shouldn’t turn off the computer.) Then the computer restarts and the following comes up: "Firmware Update Failed," then the computer restarts again, and now Windows starts.
Is there any way to stop the system from starting the update process every time I restart the computer?
I would appreciate help.

Open the task manager (start/run/taskman or CTRL-SHIFT-ESC) and go to Startup Apps. Disable the firmware flash there.
