Latitude 3190 BIOS Flash Update not working
Hi all. I've been using my latitude 3190 for the past 2 years when it suddenly bricked. I quickly turned the laptop off, and then turned it back on just to see that it would freeze as soon as the loading screen came up with horizontal red lines appearing. I searched up what could possibly be happening to my computer and found out that it might have something to do with the BIOS. So I updated it using a thumbstick, Just for it to power off without even giving me a loading bar. I was confused so I powered it back on to see that it hadn't even updated the revision for the BIOS, I even tried it a couple more times but nothing works. Can someone tell me why?

Hi
There are a few pre-requisites, EG: Not having BitLocker enabled.

However I would try to use any inbuilt DELL diagnostics,and/or note any LED patterns also.

The firmware isn't the issue - a bad mainboard is.

I have viewed your YouTube video. You see 'Preparing Automatic Repair' in your computer display as seen in your posted video?
https://youtube.com/shorts/hbScA1QsLog?si=5V3vm5qDvHtGrSn7 l
Also, the problems started during or after a BIOS, driver or window update?
I know this question have been ask already, you tried booting into Dell Preboot menu to run Dell offline diagnostic?
If no,
1.Power off computer. Remove all peripherals from computer such as printer, external drive or flash drive.
2. Power on computer, quickly start tapping F12 key continuously until you see Dell Preboot Menu. In the menu, select Diagnostic
Note: Please don't wait until for the Dell logo to appear, soon as you power on computer, start tapping F12 key continuously

@LSUFAN51 yes it happens both on the loading and on the preparing automatic repair screens
It wasn't after an update, it just happened randomly. Maybe it's because I downloaded voicemod? But I have no idea.
I have ran the offline diagnostic and it did give me 2 errors. One was an 2000-0114 and the other was an 2000-8008 both saying 'unable to start application processors'

According to Dell Reference table error code list: 2000-0114 error occurred during the tests that may involve the main system board of the computer. And 2000-8008 error code indicate the same as may be an issue with the mainboard. Solution; Update to latest BIOS

What is latest BIOS on the computer now? Do you know? I have read when you already tried installing latest BIOS with a flash drive.

@LSUFAN51 my current bios is v1.35 and the newest version is v1.43. I have tried updating it, but the computer just powers itself off and doesn't turn itself back on, no loading screen no update bar or anything

I would try installing Bios version 1.37 or 1.38 onto computer. Flashing an older version (1.35) or skipping to the latest 1.43 sometimes does not work. If version 1.37 or 1.38 gets your computer up and running again, then you can install the latest version if desire.

I don't know if your computer support this in your Dell Preboot menu (f12 key) but it's information in video that might be helpful to you

This is a very nice computer. It must be very frustrating for you to not get your computer up and running again. I was hoping that one of the later BIOS versions will get the computer to work normally. I would suggest contacting Dell Out Of Warranty and request a quote to get the computer fix again. Thanks for all updates and good luck on your search for a computer fix.
