Laptop Inspiron 14 5440 keeps disconnecting from my vpn connection

I bought a new laptop due to working from home more often than not and the laptop keeps disconnecting from my VPN. I had our tech support looking into and they said everything is good and it is my internet but my internet works every other time and I don't think that is it. I feel like sending this back because I bought it for the sole purpose of working from home!
