Dell Latitude - Turns on with low battery status but quickly charges to full
Hi,
My Dell Latitude 5400 laptop has recently been giving me battery issues. I normally charge the battery to full status, unplug all peripherals & the charging cable, and manually shut it down. Unfortunately, when I turn it back on, the battery is nearly depleted. It additionally essentially immediately charges back to full status when plugged in, from that aforementioned depleted status.
According to the "Intel Graphics Command Center" app, the battery capacity is around 74% of its initial factory amount.

The battery drains a normal amount after a couple of hours of light usage.
I previously tried troubleshooting my issue by removing the battery when turned off, waiting a couple min, putting it back in, and restarting it. That worked for a time, but the issue returned.
Please also see the battery report generated from the command prompt.

May I ask if there are other means of troubleshooting or if I should simply replace the battery?
Thank you.

If it's a four cell battery, it sounds like the issue is a dying cell -- which would account for the cut-off and rapid depletion of the battery.
In the absence of any other symptoms, replace the battery.
