Dell Latitude 5580 Type-C for charging
I have a Dell Latitude 5580 laptop.
Can I charge it through the USB-C (Type-C) port, for example using a laptop power bank or a mobile phone charger?

Yes, the Dell Latitude 5580 does support charging through the USB-C port, but there are a few important conditions.
The USB-C charger or power bank must support USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) and be able to supply enough power. Dell recommends at least 45W, and for stable charging 60W or higher works best. Standard phone chargers usually do not provide enough power, so they may not charge the laptop or may charge very slowly.
If you are using a power bank, make sure it explicitly supports USB-C PD output and not just USB-C for data. Also, use a good-quality USB-C cable rated for power delivery.
If the laptop does not charge, check the BIOS version and update it from Dell’s support site, as older BIOS versions sometimes have USB-C charging issues.
