BIOS settings.
Just received a refurbished Latitude 5410 (Windows Pro).
In BIOS, under "Sata Operation" the AHCI button was selected. (This was a corporate purchase).
My 2 questions on this:
Is it okay/preferred to change the setting to Raid On ?
I'm 3 BIOS updates behind so does this setting, whichever is applied, have any relevance when updating the BIOS ?
I'm aware of the Bitlocker condition. It came with Secure Boot Disabled.

Are you going to be using more than one SSD/HDD? Basically I always leave AHCI enabled. If you do change it in the BIOS then you will have to reinstall Windows. It can be done without having to reinstall Windows as seen on this web page at Dell support. And if you do update the BIOS, it will more than likely change the setting to RAID.

I may in the future want to add a mechanical HDD and dual boot Windows 10 and 11.
This system has Raid On as the default (per Service Manual). Would using the Restore Settings button still create the likelihood of a clean install requirement ? I'd like to attempt the BIOS update with the original BIOS settings in place, believing this will give the best chance for the procedure to succeed. I did see one BIOS update failure by the previous owner (in BIOS Events) so I'm leary.
Also, this page perplexes me. Do you understand the context of the information:

Future advice is appreciated.
btw, The linked page you gave me did not apply to the 5410. This one does:

From the reading I've done and this link specifically
https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/xps/switching-from-raid-to-achi/647f9b7af4ccf8a8def5ff19?keyword=bios%20upgrade%20achi%20mode
... I believe I will leave the BIOS setting at ACHI. The last BIOS upgrade was successful; likely the last owner didn't switch it back from Raid after that success. Thanks for your assistance. Bill
