Static being heard constantly from Inspiron 15r
Please help. There is continues static coming from my audio jack. The sound
is fine without the earphones. I guess its a hardware issue.

Re-install your audio driver and if the noise is still there then it most probably is a hardware failure. Then contact Dell support if you are under warranty.
If you need further help please include the full model name of your laptop (15R is a generic name Dell uses for several different models) and the name of your operating system.

Thank you for the quick reply. I bought the Dell 5521 on Wednesday. It will be easier if I go back and exchange it for something else.
