Problem in my Dell Laptop Charger

 Dears

I have dell inspiron E1505 Laptop. And there is a corrision on the wire that connected the charger to the power supply. I want to solve the problem but opening the charger and remove the the last 4 cms of the wire (Where the corrision occured) and then connect the wire to the charger. Does anyone know how to open the charger? Do I need a knife to open the charger.

 Best Regards

Replace the adapter.  It's not serviceable short of cutting it open and duct taping it together - and the cost of a replacement adapter is about $35, vs. $400+ for a mainboard, should the adapter be damaged and destroy the mainboard.
