Inspiron E1705 Battery is not recongized
I am unable to run the labtop on its battery, whenever I unplug it the computer turns off instantly. Under the power management it lists the battery as not present. I have tried updating the drivers, and I seem to have the latest.
Any ideas?

If the system is more than a year old, try a new battery. If that doesn't work, you have a mainboard problem.
If it's less than a year old, it's under warranty; call Dell for warranty repair.
