Inspiron 640M Fan Runs Constantly

My 640M fan runs constantly.  Don't think this is normal.  Does anyone have experience with this situation and machine?  Have run diagnostics, troubleshooting, etc. with no indication of anything wrong. However, do not believe this is normal. You advice/experience wouold be appreciated.  Thanks.

How long have you had the machine? Check the fan and vents and ensure there's no excessive dust/lint build up. If there is, blow the fan/vents with compressed air to clean.

have you ran the Diags for the Fan only? you can ran it under custom test.  if an error occured have it check by Dell for possible Fan replacement.  try to update the BIOS also if needed, check the it using your service tag.
