Erroneus Keyboard error when booting

Inspiron 1501 - Upgraded to Windows Vista Home Pri - Receives the following error: "Keyboard cannot be identified press any key or F1, F2.." at the startup before OS loads - Battery works fine.

Downloaded the following BIOS - Win1501263.exe

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R174470&SystemID=INS_PNT_1501&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=13120&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=9&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=1&fileid=236967

it does not run - in Vista -  It seems to work in XP - Why dell does not provide the BIOS ver that can be run in Windows Vista or creating boot disks to flash the bios the old school way...Any suggestions?

Thanks...

Wrong Statement: replace "Erroneus keyboard..." with "  Battery cannot be identfied...error"

Update: Actually the flash file was fine - it ran by right clicking and selecting to run as administrator. Resolved the battery error. Done.

Hello,

I am experiencing the exact problem with the message "battery cannot be identified". How did you resolve it? Thanks.
