Cant move idems on google

 I have a inspiron 1520. I cannot move items on my Google home page;i.e. news sources, local gas price box, calender, time clocks (for other parts of the world), games,etc. I used to be able to use my touchpad to move the items around just by moving the cursor over the top of the item I wanted to move, hold down the left touchpad button and I would be able to drag it to the spot that I want it to be. Now I'm not able to move anything. It's quite a query - ya think?
