VSFTP issue after upgrade to 9.11.0.1
hello
we have upgrade from 9.7.1.2 to 9.11.0.1 and have a critical alert for VSFTPD, does anyone have the ports for passive mode?.
my search of the Dell site hasn't revealed any useful KB
| When firewall is enabled, VSFTPD is enabled but works in passive mode, this combination will block FTP connections. |
I have logged this with support but so far not heard back, was hoping it was something hidden in the release notes :)

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
The passive port should be port 21
Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Set it where? In the software or on your firewall?

on the Isilon, If I select enable Passive on the Isilon Cluster, do I need to specify ports somewhere?

Please note: If SFTP or, for example, passive FTP is to be used in conjunction with the integrated firewall or other firewalls, the FTP configuration on the cluster side must be adjusted and the ports or port range to be used must be defined in vsftpd (/etc/mcp/templates/vsftpd.conf).
Other FTP settings should also be set in vsftpd.conf.
