Recomendations for H400 nodes monitoring

Hi!
Currently we are finished the migration to new nodes H400. With the old generation from Isilon cluster (NL400/410) our monitoring system (Nagios) was checking some alerts (examle check_ping). These checks pointed to a clustername (not smartconnect name). Now with the new nodes it's possible that this was different set.
So like each new node H400 has a management port. Management port can be used for monitoring?
More details are:
Only it exist one zone about /ifs.
We monitor through snmp.
