move directory from one dedupe directory to another
If I use "mv" in CLI/ssh to move the contents SmartDeduped directory "/ifs/share1/dedupe-data" to "/ifs/share2/dedupe-data" will this:
a) re-hydrate the dedupted data and possibly fill /ifs to the brim?
Or
b) will it stay in "deduped state"?
Again, using "mv" via CLI/ssh to move (not copy!) the content of the directory...
Running OneFS 9.5 on Isilon H500 nodes (no inline dedupe, only post/offline job dedupe)
Thanks a lot for your input.

Hello CendresMetaux,
When moving a deduped directory, it will re-hydrate the data. It may fill /ifs to the max capacity, but it is hard to say for sure as it depends on how much data there is.

Hi All,
If I use the
mv
command to move data from/ifs/share1/dedupe-data
to/ifs/share2/dedupe-data
on OneFS 9.5 with Isilon H500 nodes, will it:a) Re-hydrate the data and potentially fill up
/ifs
?or
b) Keep the data in its deduplicated state?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
If both are set to be deduplicated, it should stay deduplicated.
